As a firm rooted in the local community, one of the best ways of giving back and supporting people is to help grass roots sports clubs.
Not only does it help the clubs financially and encourage the next generation of potential sports stars, but it also helps us build trust, visibility and community value, and is great fun to watch.
Since starting out, we have connected with sports clubs across the region based on local connections and our own interests, as well as providing legal advice to a number of other sporting organisations.
I hope our emotional engagement and financial involvement is providing a community uplift, helping build stronger communities and encouraging youth development and a pipeline of talent – who may even become solicitors here in the future!
Our sponsorship not only offers local visibility and reaches the right potential audience repeatedly through long term exposure, but also benefits long-term customer relationships as research shows people prefer brands that support their community.
Matthew Dixon was also honoured to manage an MCC cricket tour to Luxembourg in June. The tour offered practice for the Luxembourg national team ahead of a T20 European tournament and also to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the main cricket club, Optimists CC, in Luxembourg. MCC played 7 games during the week long tour and also helped the local schools and junior set ups with coaching throughout the trip as well as supporting local coaches and umpires to assist with the development of the game in Luxembourg.

Holmesfield Cricket Club
MD Law sponsors all shirts for senior men’s, women’s and all junior teams with our logo on the front of all shirts. We also sponsor a perimeter board at their ground.
The club has developed from a men’s senior team on Saturday and Sunday to having two men’s teams on Saturdays, one on Sunday plus women’s team on Sundays.
It also has junior teams from U9 all the way up to U17s, plus All Stars on Friday nights and hosts Derbyshire CC age group fixtures, and now has a second ground up and running to accommodate the increased number of women’s and junior fixtures.
Chesterfield CC & Scarborough CC
MD Law is a corporate sponsor at both with a perimeter board at CCC, plus is a silver sponsor and supports them with a table at the County Championship match at Queen’s Park.
The firm also supports Sheffield Cricket Lovers’ Society & Friends of Queen’s Park Society with adverts in their brochures/annuals.

Our sports connections
We organise a Climb and Connect climbing event every other month – contact Keith Hague if you would like to attend.
